City Showcase

City Showcase New Zealand applications open

The search for new musical talent in New Zealand has begun with applications coming in from around New Zealand for City Showcase, taking place in Napier from 25-28 November 2010.

Successful applicants will perform at gigs in and around Napier’s Art Deco city centre.  The event includes an audience vote culminating in a competition - Finding the Future – with shortlisted acts performing in front of a judging panel including leaders from the music industry.  The ultimate winner gets to play City Showcase in Hong Kong or London in May 2011. The winner will also perform at the Mission Winery Concert in 2011.

The event is designed to showcase the talent of new musicians and allows a platform for artists to perform for both the public and the cream of the New Zealand music industry.

City Showcase (www.cityshowcase.co.uk) is a non-profit organisation and has been launching new musical talent in the UK since 2003 with then unknowns including Amy Winehouse, Keane, Hot Chip and Razorlight.

To apply, please send a weblink (including tracks), contact details, a brief biography and a photo to City Showcase, PO Box 3217, Onekawa, Napier.

Alternatively apply through www.sonicbids.com/cityshowcasenapier.  City Showcase submissions through Sonicbids are open to ALL artists, though there is one slot exclusively reserved for an artist selected through Sonicbids with a travel contribution for the selected applicant.

The deadline for applications is 1st July 2010.
